Mission Trip to Autlan. MX

Luis Benavades, Dan Nelson, Gary Sheveland aand Ron Sheveland in Guadalajara.

This Thursday, October 9, I will fly to Autlan, Mexico to do a training course with the pastors and church leaders of that area. You may know that I helped my cousin Gary Sheveland (a Mexican Medical missionary) develop the School of Church Leadership four years ago. Since that time the school has offered about eight courses a year in the region around Cabo San Lucas. It has gone well and now we are trying to expand. Above is a picture of our team.

Autlan looks like it might be a great place for a satellite campus. Some years ago a missionary built a regional training center. It has multiple rooms for lodging and good classroom space. But since he passed away, this center has rarely been used for its original purpose of training pastors and church leaders. His widow, Sondra Pepper, a missionary supported by my church, still serves in Autlan. She, Joshua Garcia, and her team have invited us try out this site and then consider whether this can be a campus for future courses. So off we go!

Outside of a Doctor of Ministry course in Singapore, Mexico has been my primary focus in recent days. My last course was in Cabo San Lucas. There I, along with two other professors that I recruited, taught courses to over fifty students. We have also ministered in Tijuana and Guadalajara.
