Pray! Danger in Autlan.

Luis etc selfieRon Sheveland:

In my role as the director of “I-Training,” I am part of a team that has a “School of Church Leadership in Mexico.” Almost every month we have a class in one of four locations: Guadalajara, San Lucas, San Jose and Autlán. I have taught often in these locations. Currently we have a teaching team in Autlán. This is a prayer request that I just received from one member of the team, Pastor Luis Benavides Varela (left on picture):

“Autlán has been a quiet town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. After we started coming with the classes of leadership training, a helicopter of Mexican Army was attacked and the hunting of the cartel started. 15 cops were ambushed and killed and the brother of one of our students almost died that day. Then the people from the cartel blocked the highways and burnt two banks — all of this in two or three months. We got to Autlan this afternoon and I saw soldiers everywhere. Tension, mobilization… Please pray for this city, please pray for peace and protection for the innocent and please pray for us, for our protection and success in our ministry. More than 30 leaders are being built up and unity among the Church is starting to happen. May the Lord continue his work in Autlan.”

Would you please pray for my ministry partners, Gary, Nick and Luis? Would you also pray for the students and the course? And would you also pray for me? I will be teaching another course in Mexico in August. I am currently preparing for it and have a lot of work to do.
