— Sermons

I’ve been asked to add some sermons — so here are a handful. I hope that God uses them to impact you.

Out of the Mire & Into the Choir This sermon, based on Psalm 40, shows how God wants to help us during times of great trial. This passage has, as you will see illustrated in the message, used this beautiful passage of Scripture to help me through some of the hardest times of my life. I pray that the Lord will use this to help you out of whatever dark pit might be in your life.

Victorious Christianity — A Sermon from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. In this text, the apostle Paul compares the Christian life to athletic competition and, in so doing, shows us how to have a victorious faith.

Humble Beginnings This is a message from a series called “The Revival Chronicles.” The book of Second Chronicles has four major revivals. This study focuses on the revival that happened during the time of Josiah’s reign (chapter 34).  It concentrates on the key role of “humility” in our quest for spritual revitalization.

This “sermon” is less than three minutes and is followed by a beautiful solo by Marilyn Newell. Based on Psalm 27, it describes the “one thing” in life that is more important than any other pursuit. It may be the first of a series called, “Stories & Scriptures.”
