Where is Christianity growing the fastest?

From research done by The Center for the Study of Global Christianity in 2013, it was discovered that Nepal has the highest percentage Christianity Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) in the world. In 1970 only 0.1% of the country was Christian. But at its present rate of growth it will be 3.8% in 2020.

I have taken three mission trips to Nepal in the last couple of years and have been overwhelmed with the evangelistic and church planting fervor of many of our brothers and sisters in that land. Please keep praying for them. They are still a small minority in a country where the majority religion is Hindu. But God is doing a great work!

Merry Christmas from the Shevelands

Christmas Picture

Merry Christmas!

It’s Christmas day and it has been a wonderful time with my family. We had a blessed family Christmas worship time. After that we took turns praying and opening our gifts. Since then we played games, ate lunch (and too many snacks) and will later have a feast.

But now, since we are having a little lull in the action, I wanted to just take a moment to send Christmas greetings to you. You are so very special to our family and I want you to be part of this special day.

Life is so good, and that is, of course, due to a soooooo good God! This morning, as we read the Christmas story out of the book of Luke, we came across a line that said that the miracle of the Savior’s coming was all because of God’s “tender mercies.” The Lord’s grace is dazzling, isn’t it?

Our family is doing well. Jodi is busy as a wife, mom, church secretary, part-time bookkeeper, and I-Training administrative assistant. Luke is in his junior year at California Baptist University. As he prepares for the ministry, he is in a program called the Bachelor of Applied Theology. He is an intern in a church and planning on a summer mission trip to India. Jessica is a sophomore in high school. She is a leader in her campus student group and is active in two youth groups. Stop by and she will let you play with her rabbit, Charlie.

This has been an exciting ministry year for me. As the director of I-Training, I taught four courses in Mexico, a Doctor of Ministry course in Singapore, a Master’s level course in Nepal, and a “Pastors & Leadership Skill Training” course in India. In addition, I preached numerous times in those countries and ours, and wrote two books. I also used the internet to teach additional courses in the United States and overseas and to distribute resources and do mentoring. And this is just a sampling. It was a busy and fruitful year!
Jodi and I want to thank all of you for your prayers, friendship, encouragement and financial support. You have been a great blessing.

May God bless you richly during this coming new year. We will be praying for you. Please keep praying for us and the ministry of I-Training!
Rejoicing in Christ,

Ron

“The Potluck People” is now a paperback

As most know, I have written several Christian non-fiction books to help believers, leaders and churches. But, as a hobby, I also enjoy writing fiction. My novel, The Potluck People is now a paperback. This novel about quirky church people became, for a while, a #1 bestseller in its category as an Amazon Kindle ebook. But since so many people requested it as a paperback, that adaptation has now been done. It is 360 pages long and formatted beautifully. This would make a great Christmas present to those enjoy laugh-filled inspiration.
