2023 has been an enjoyable year of ministry. Here are some highlights:
Spending six weeks in Spain as their temporary pastor. Jodi and I had a wonderful time with the great people of the Calahondra International Baptist Church.
Teaching various courses globally. During November I taught 3 hours a day every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Himalayan Graduate School of Theology in Kathmandu, Nepal using Zoom. The theme was Christian Marriage and Family.
Preaching and teaching at various churches.
Writing and developing new resources. In 2024 I hope to create a website with video courses.
Some months back, Ron used Zoom to teach a 6-week seminary course at the Himalayan Graduate School of Theology in Kathmandu (He is one of their adjunct professors). He taught every Tuesday and Thursday for 3 hours each time to about 50 students about the “Life of Christ.” This coming November he will do the same, but this time the theme will be on “Christian Marriage and Family,” and he will teach Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
For 6 weeks this summer, the Shevelands went to Spain where Ron served as the short-term pastor of an international, English-speaking church. The church ministry was a joy, and the sight-seeing was fun! Coming up is a teaching trip to Mexico.
On the home front, Ron has preached most Sundays and is scheduled to teach a course here in Michigan for four weeks. A current project is building a website that will be filled with training, tools, and inspiration. He also has an ongoing ministry of encouraging and aiding ministry leaders around the world.
I-Training is a ministry that allows us to train pastors and church leaders around the world. The “I” in I-Training refers to two things: International and Internet. That is, we do our training directly through International Mission Trips and via computers through Internet courses and the distribution of books and resources. Since the Covid crisis, we are now doing more classes over Zoom.
If you are one of our past students, let me tell you how much you are appreciated. We have done hundreds of classes around the globe in seminaries, Bible colleges, churches and training centers, and each of them has been special. We get to spend a few weeks giving you training in the Bible and ministry methods, and then you go out faithfully to serve God in carrying out the Great Commission. We love to hear about what God is doing through you. Please keep sending us updates!
Besides teaching courses, I am busy most weeks preaching or teaching in churches in the United States or overseas (my highlight this year was preaching for 6 weeks in Spain!). Occasionally I stay longer at a church and serve as their Interim Pastor. If you are in need of a speaker at your church or event, please let me know.
And if you are part of our ministry partners, we are so grateful for your prayers and financial support. Your participation is exciting and encouraging. Together we are investing in God’s fields and seeing a great harvest. May God bless you richly!
Ron and Jodi Sheveland live in Whitehall, Michigan. They own an old (1876!) white church. One wing was transformed into their home. The auditorium and fellowship hall, in the slow process of renovation, will eventually be available for ministry purposes. An office, library, and media center allow Ron to study and produce books, materials and audio and video courses.
